Nature photography traineeships

With over 30 years’ experience in nature photography, Gilles Martin offers you the opportunity to specialise in macrophotography so that you can master enlargement ratios, depth of field, focusing, natural and artificial lighting, sights, composition, framing, exposure, light, etc. In the field, you will also learn to familiarise yourself with animal and plant species. A 100% animal traineeship! Discover the Brenne regional nature reserve with Gilles Martin, who will unveil his secrets as a professional and his entire “home-made” arsenal: floating hide, fixed hides, remote-controlled robots, giant aquarium, infrared photo traps, photo guns, and other ingenious contraptions. Gilles Martin will also help you understand various shooting techniques, choose your equipment, configure your housing, blend into your surroundings, and educate your gaze.

Gilles Martin offers you the Macro-Micro-Focus Stacking traineeship to give you the chance to share in 30 years’ experience in the field of close-up photography. The traineeship is unique in Europe, and its aim is to train passionate photographers (whether beginners or amateur experts) in the techniques of Macro and Micro Shooting, ranging from proxiphotography to enlargements of 400x and more. The workshop is held at Gilles Martin’s studio in Tours. An area of 120 m2 is given over entirely to close-up photography.
